As you are able to see, the two images in which i have chosen are two album covers. The top image in black and white is Nick Jones's album cover, and the image at the bottom in yellow is Macklemore's album cover. Both looking very different but both for the same reason, Jonas cover is a lot more mature and looks as though it is aiming to target an older audience, however, looking down at Macklemore's album it looks as though it is targeting a younger audience.
Macklemore's album cover is very retro, the font of his writing in his cover is very 60s 70s style, and the background is a muggy yellow colour, almost as though someone has wiped a tea bag over it. The writing is bright and it stands out as the colour is a light blue with a style that bands would have used 40-50 years ago.
Nick Jonas's album cover is very stylish and is very modern and extremely up to date, the background is very plain and basic, not because he is lazy, but because it is just as effective as any other. if not more. he has very little software edits, only the shattering glass. This is effective as it shows complication through the breaking glass and as though he has overcome it.
Both of these albums come across as very different at first but when you think about it properly you are able to understand that they have the same meaning behind them.
They are both just trying to attract their target audience and make their album well noticed in the store when someone is looking through albums, they want to catch the audience's eye.
